Applications of e-learning and new technologies in foreign language teaching

International Conference for foreign language teachers and methodologists under the honorary patronage of His Magnificence Rector of TUL, TUL E-Learning Centre and SERMO

Łódź, 13-14th September 2019

Objectives

The aim of this conference is the presentation and exchange of good practices for the use of e-learning and modern multimedia tools in language teaching. Particular focus will be placed on embedding e-learning and modern technologies in language courses for academic and professional purposes as well as for high schools.

Themes and topics include:

• From the classroom to online (and back again?)

• Blended learning and e-learning: opportunities and challenges
• Online tutoring and mentoring

• Methodology vs. Functionality: Compatibility between e-learning authoring software and language teaching methods

• Theoretical considerations for using authoring software/content management systems (Moodle, Blackboard) to teach the four main language skills.
• Critical evaluation and selection of tools appropriate for teaching academic/specialized language

• From content user to content producer 
• Practical tips for using e-learning authoring tools and apps
• Selection and adaptation of materials
• Practical tips for using e-learning authoring tools and apps
• Selection and adaptation of materials

PARTICIPANTS

• Foreign language teachers at universities, colleges, secondary schools and language schools are welcome to attend the conference. We also hope you will share your expertise and experiences with using modern technologies in the didactic process.

FORMS OF ACTIVE PARTICIPATION

• showcase lesson (up to 45 min)
• short lecture (20 min)
• practical session/workshop (up to 20 min)
• e-learning course (up to 30 min)
• webinar (up to 30 min)

Sessions may be conducted in Polish or English

DATES AND DEADLINES
