Rules for language courses: first-cycle part-time studies
STUDY PROGRAMME 2020
Rules for attending and completing language courses as well as obtaining certification are regulated by Resolution No. 6/2019 of 24 April 2019 of the Senate at Lodz University of Technology, Study Regulations of Lodz University of Technology, Chapter 4
Internal regulations regarding students who started attending language courses in summer semester 2020/21 and later
1. Students are obliged to ENROLL IN THE LANGUAGE COURSE (blocks 1-3) in person, according to the rules and before the deadline defined in an announcement published on the Lodz University of Technology Language Centre website (the announcement should be published at least two weeks before enrolment starts). After electronic enrolment has finished, students can enroll with the given faculty coordinator at the time of their office hours, at the latest before classes in the second week of the given semester start. Where justified by circumstances, students can enroll before the fourth week of classes in the given semester starts. The same procedure applies to students who are retaking their language course – the student contacts their coordinator to be referred to a given language group and joins the class, presenting the referral to the teacher teaching the group.
2. Students have the right to change their language group level within the period of two weeks after classes start in the first semester of the language course (having received the approval of the current teacher and the faculty coordinator). After that time, a change from a higher to a lower level is only possible after obtaining the approval of the Head of the Language Centre.
3. Should any other matters connected with attending language courses arise, students need to contact their faculty coordinator during their office hours.

3. Students who have obtained an average grade of 4.5 (four and a half) or higher from all the language course blocks can be exempted from taking the final exam (both oral and written). Each final block grade cannot be lower than 4.0 (four). In such a case, the final exam grade results from the average grade obtained. This regulation does not pertain to students who have completed the language course blocks in the form of resits or are taking the exam before the exam session officially starts.
4. Students have the right to be exempted from taking the final exam on the basis of certificates held (see the table listing recognized language certificates).
5. Should any other matters connected with attending language courses arise, students need to contact their faculty coordinator during their office hours.
