A week before Christmas, we celebrated the festive season at our Language Centre during a staff meeting organized by the marketing team. To the sounds of Christmas carols, Director of CJ PŁ Magdalena Nowacka gave Christmas greetings to all the assembled employees.
The promotion team, together with the administrative staff, took care of the room's decor, arranged delicious cakes, souvenir gingerbreads and musical entertainment for all present. This year, all the cakes were baked by our colleagues.
The guest of honour at the Christmas Eve meeting was our colleague, Russian philologist Elżbieta Pertyńska, a well-deserving CJ employee, awarded this year with the medal of merit from Lodz University of Technology. With a keen sense of humour and spirit of enthusiasm, Elżbieta prompted us all to reflect on the teacher's role – as a mentor, but at the same time educator, inspiring students to continue their adventure with a foreign language.
We were kept in the festive mood by a student form IFE, who performed a selection of the best-known popular carols and Christmas songs on the violin.
After the official presentations, as in previous years there was fun and games. This year, we together created Christmas tree decorations from Christmas Eve wafers.
We invite you to watch a short photo collage from our Christmas Eve.
