Lodz University of Technology is implementing the project Masters of Didactics funded by the Operational Programme Knowledge, Education, Development under Measure 4.3 Transnational cooperation. Since the project turned out to be successful, the Technical University of Lodz has received approval for financing its second edition. The purpose of the Masters of Didactics initiative is to improve the competences of academic staff in applying innovative teaching methods.
The coordinator of the first edition of the project is the Centre for International Cooperation of the Technical University of Lodz, which will also take care of the second edition. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education with participation of 1000 academic teachers from 40 universities in Poland. The main objective of the Masters of Didactics is to develop innovative solutions in working with students by the academic staff involved in the project. The process of preparation and implementation of project tasks involves the exchange of scientific potential of the titled Masters of Teaching. In accordance with the defined selection criteria, in the first edition the University of Łódź selected 24 academic teachers who will conduct classes using the tutoring method with students of our university. Another 22 teachers have qualified to participate in the second edition.
The masters of didactics from the University of Lodz worked out the strategy during study visits abroad with the participation of external experts from renowned universities, including Ghent University (Belgium), University of Groningen (the Netherlands), University College London (United Kingdom), Aarhus University (Denmark). Teachers also took part in on-line trainings and conferences dedicated to the staff of the future. These activities prepared them for the implementation stage with the participation of students, which starts with the new academic year 2019/2020. The trips of the teachers of the Lodz University for training courses within the 2nd edition of the project will start in the winter semester.
Two representatives of the Lodz Language Centre mgr Krystyna Breszka-Jędrzejewska and mgr Iwona Wróblewska participated in the previous edition of the project.
