Engineering Visions Summer Schools are held every year at a different partner university belonging to the network of several engineering schools:
• University College of Northern Denmark (Denmark)
• Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes University of Applied Sciences (Germany)
• Saxion University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands)
• Lodz University of Technology (Poland)
• Glasgow Caledonian University (Scotland)
• University West Trollhättan (Sweden)
• NTB Interstaatliche Hochschule für Technik Buchs (Switzerland)
Students reflect on the challenges facing our world today and create engineering visions for life on the Earth in the next decades. In group projects they flesh out their engineering vision for a “better world”. In addition to working on an issue from a particular field, the students also develop:
- Awareness
- Sustainability
- Entrepreneurship
- Intercultural competencies
- Multidisciplinary approach
- Innovative way of thinking
The EV Summer School allows the students to use cutting edge technologies to create the ideas about future developments as well as develop very practical skills valued by their future employers as intercultural communication skills, English language skills, teamwork, autonomous problem solving. Successfully completed projects are rewarded with 4 ECTS.
In 2019 Engineering Visions will be hosted by the HTW Saar University of Applied Sciences in Saarbrucken from 25 August 2019 to 7 September 2019.
