Study Skills for University /IFE/ classes at the Lodz University of Technology Library
On October 22, 2025, several student groups and their lecturers held Study Skills for University (SSU) classes at the Main Library of Lodz University of Technology. As part of the classes, students took a guided tour of the library with a library staff member, familiarised themselves with its resources, activated their library accounts, learned about the book borrowing process (including from other libraries in Poland and abroad), and completed a series of practical, interactive tasks prepared by their instructors. All of this allowed them to familiarise themselves with the library, its resources, its helpful staff, and its comfortable spaces for quiet work and collaboration. The appeal of the SSU's outdoor activities that day was heightened by the regular "BLIND BOOK" event, held in the Reading Room on the ground floor of the Lodz University of Technology Library. Students and faculty could borrow a surprise book, chosen from a selection of specially packaged fiction volumes. Each participant received a lottery ticket entitling them to a library item of their choice and a delicious fudge with the library logo.
Rules for borrowing books during the BLIND BOOK campaign:
- Choose one of the mystery, wrapped books prepared by the librarians.
- Report to the staff member on duty, who will record your loan.
- Each loan entitles you to participate in a raffle for library merchandise (each participant receives one prize).
